The battle for export of corn escalates as supply in the US is under pressure from the last very good harvests in Brazil and Argentina. US export-oriented producers registered 322,672 tonnes of exports during the week ending 12 October. This is the bottom for exports of US maize, the values currently being equivalent to those of 2015. "It is difficult to compete in this global market, except in cases where we have a cargo advantage," said Arlan Suderman, chief commodity specialist at INTL FCStone.
