Short interest in Deutsche Bank AG doubled this week, rising to 2.7 percent of shares outstanding on Wednesday after Soros Fund Management took a short position in Germany’s biggest bank of about 7 million shares last week, or 0.5 percent of the ender’s share capital.
Chief Executive Officer John Cryan has been seeking to bolster profitability and reverse a slide in shares that eroded about 46 percent of the company’s value this year.
