The number of speculators betting against VIX futures hit a new record as the open interest on the futures rose to -485,000 short contracts. All this positivism comes amid the rising stock markets that seem to have no intention of correcting. The moods of the Chicago stock exchange show strong positivism, which is expected to remain in the coming weeks as well. Historically, VIX tends to decline in the fourth quarter of the year. Our expectations are that the VIX Index will remain low until December, when many investors will choose to take profits or restructure their portfolio before the New Year.
