Asian markets have risen today, most likely fueled by improved investor sentiment over ongoing US-China talks.
Australia's ASX 200 jumped 0.28%, with the energy sub-index adding 0.64%. Rio Tinto shares gained 1.59%, Fortescue made 0.96% and BHP advanced 0.66%.
In South Korea, Kospi grew 0.93%, with the chip industry leading the way. Samsung is up 1.59% and SK Hynix added 1.81%.
Chinese markets in general have also advanced. Shanghai composite is trading close to its opening levels, Shenzhen composite is up 0.35%.
Japanese markets remained closed for national holidays in the country.
Asian gains followed a strong Wall Street session, where the S&P 500 recorded its first close of over 3,000 since September 18.
