IBM has big plans for its own payment system Blockchain World Wire, powered by Stellar, launched in September. Jesse Lund, head of Blockchain Solutions at IBM, recently revealed in an interview that "there will be a lot of new announcements" but he already spilled the beans of some important details that could make the XLM price break the roof.
From the very beginning, 40 banks have boarded the project.
Blockchain World Wire is another strong player in cross-border payments that aims to make obsolete bank intermediaries unnecessary. XLM is a viable cross-border settlement ecosystem instrument. Lund claims Blockchain World Wire will be supported by 50 countries as well as by 40 banks.
Their purpose is to cover a significant part of the world. For three years IBM Stellar's product can be used to send cheap and fast transactions "all over the world".
