European stocks ended the day trading lower as traders follow developments in a critical Brexit week, while details about the US-China partial trade remain unclear.
The US has agreed to delay tariff increases from 25% to 30% to at least $ 250 billion in Chinese goods that would otherwise have to come into force tomorrow. President Donald Trump has said that the first phase of the trade deal will be "charted" in the next 3 weeks and in it, China will have to buy between $ 40 billion and $ 50 billion in US agricultural products.
China wants to hold at least one more round of talks before signing on to the first phase of the proposed deal. Beijing also wants the US to jettison the promised new tariffs scheduled for December.
On Wall Street, major stock indexes remain clear, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average unchanged and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq losing slightly.
