Only 13% of Americans say they plan to buy a new home in the next 12 months, marking the third consecutive quarter in which fewer people become owners of a new home.
The statistics come from the National Association of Home Builders, in their last quarter report.
Of the four groups by age, millenniums are those who most likely intend to buy their own home, with 19% of them responding firmly to "yes". However, the figures decrease with each next generation: 13% of generation X, 7% of baby boomers and 3% of pensioners are planning a purchase.
About 54-55% of the active buyers of each group by year has spent more than three months exploring and exploring the property market. But only 19% of them say they will succeed in the coming months to find the perfect option for them. 79% of respondents said they could afford less than half of the properties available in local markets.
Still, 6.1% of buyers say they will continue to look for the "perfect property". 40% will increase their search area and 23% will be set up in small or older than the planned home.
