Apple Inc. AAPL (+2,33%) to acquire BlackBerry Ltd BBRY (+0,63%)?
That was just a rumor, which appeared earlier this week, but many analysts were quick to intervene in the matter.
"I think the BlackBerry is the game play, never talking about the acquisition," said an analyst at Global Equities Research. "Apple will welcome the BlackBerry App Store as a partner. So to be able to publish their security software in App Store-and people to download it. Nothing different from what other companies do.
Sean Udall, CIO of Quantum Trading Strategies and author of the report TechStrat, had another theory. He believes that Apple could acquire BlackBerry - or at least think about this - if the biggest governments in the world ask iPhone manufacturer to do so.
Cody Willard, president of Scutify and Futr, said that these and other reasons are secondary.
"The main reason would be access to the dashboard," said Willard
