Bloomberg News reported that David Rockefeller, an American banker, philanthropist, presidential advisor and heir to one of the most legendary wealth in history has died. At 101 years, he is the oldest billionaire in the world.
He died on Monday at his home in Pocantico Hills, New York, according to an email sent by a spokesman of the family, Fraser P. Seitel. The cause of death was congestive heart failure.
Rockefeller was the youngest and last surviving grandchild of John D. Rockefeller, founder of Standard Oil and the first billionaire nation. He was the only of the five sons of John D. Rockefeller Jr., who has spent his entire professional career in the corporate world, reaching CEO of Chase Manhattan Bank during his 35 years at the company.
