On the eve of Christmas Eve, US futures indicate higher openings, continuing the rally into the last days of the year.
DOW futures are up about 20 points, followed by S & P500 and NASDAQ. The state session ends today at 8pm. Bulgarian time.
Yesterday again the major indexes closed at record levels, with the S & P500 up 2.6% in December. It is on track to record its best annual performance in the last six years, up by 28.6% for 2019. If the broad index is able to close at 31% growth, it will be the best performance of the index since 1997.
Today, Tuesday marks the official start of the Christmas Rally, which begins in the last five business days of the year and then continues through the first two business days of the new year. Stocks generally perform significantly during these periods, with the S & 500 averaging 1.3% since 1950 during the same period.
Investors welcome China's intention to stimulate its economy. The Chinese intend to boost their imports by reducing tariffs on 850 types of US products. The Chinese government will also take further reductions in its bank reserve requirements.
