President Donald Trump will make his annual statement to the US Congress.
Trump signaled last week that the speech would include extensive remarks about his opposition to Democrats for building a wall along the US-Mexico border as well as his intense partisan battle that caused a 35-day partial closure of the government.
US stock futures point to a higher opening as market participants expect a key speech by President Donald Trump and another group of companies to release their quarterly earnings reports.
At 12:25 GMT, Dow Jones rose 61 points, or around 0.25 percent, the S & P 500 futures were at 3 points, or approximately 0.1 percent, while technology futures (Nasdaq 100 ) show a gain of 11 points, or about 0.15%.
Dozens of companies are expected to publish their earnings reports on Tuesday.

Investors will closely monitor the results to see if Disney's growing efforts to compete with Netflix (NFLX.US) in the streaming space are beginning to pay off. Disney recently announced it will release its direct streaming platform to consumers in September of 2019.
