1. U.S. Futures Point to Lower Open
US stock futures point to a lower opening on Thursday as market participants await the last group of corporate earnings reports.
At 12:20 (GMT +2), blue chip futures (DJIA) dropped by 100 points or by about 0.4%, S & P 500 futures dropped 11 points or roughly 0.4%, while Nasdaq 100 technology futures showed a decline 36 points, or about 0.5%.
2. Twitter under the spotlight
In today's busy day for corporate earnings, investors will focus on Twitter (TWTR.US), which reports before the opening of the US trading session.
The Social Network is expected to earn $ 0.25 per share on revenue of $868.24 million. But more important for Wall Street will be the monthly active user accounts, which usually play a much greater role in how their shares will move after the report.
3. Economic data from the United States and FED members
On the data front, investors will likely track weekly unemployment data at 3:30 pm (GMT +2) and consumer credit numbers at 22:00 (GMT +2).
Meanwhile, a number of Fed employees will make a public statement, with investors looking for additional hints about their monetary policy over the coming months.
Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan will take part in Q & A in Texas at 16:15 (GMT +2).
Fed Deputy Chairman Richard Clarida will talk about the neutral interest rate at the Czech National Bank conference in Prague at 4:30 pm (GMT +2).
President of FED St. Louis James Bullard will talk about the state of the American economy in Minnesota at 02:30 (GMT +2).
