Tron (TRX) is the best performing cryptocurrency so far this year

Looking at the performance of the top thirty cryptocurrencies so far this year, one clear winner is standing out. Tron, by a clear margin, is the best-performing crypto for 2019, the only representative with a double-digit gain.

The token has grown with an impressive 34% so far this year, and at the same time the other cryptocurrencies have fallen. Starting the year at $0.0191 TRX surged to $0.0342 as of January 10, before dropping back to $0.0255 - the level it is currently being traded. From the bottom reached by mid-December to the present, Tron has doubled its price. No other crypto asset in the top 30 can match that.

Its excellent performance allowed TRX to overtake Litecoin and Stellar and fight for the sixth place by market capitalization. It has fallen back to eighth place, but is still the best-selling altcoin by a long margin.

Without a doubt Tron is the most discussed crypto project at the moment. But critics can not challenge the results of this hype. Tron has effectively trounced the competition. Ethereum has fallen by 21% and EOS has dropped 10% year-to-date. At the same time Tron continues to gain momentum.
