Donald Trump officially accused Fed chairman Jerome Powell of threatening the US economy by raising interest rates.
"I just say this: I'm very disappointed by the Fed, because Obama had zero interest rates, and every time we do something great for the country, it raises interest rates." Trump said.
The last interest rate hike was in September and definitely attracted Trump's criticism, who then said he was worried about that.
When asked if he regrets Powell's nomination, Trump said it was "Too soon to say, but maybe".
Powell, however, said that neither he nor other Fed officials allowed politicians to disturb them.
"Interest rates are still low, but we are gradually moving to the neutral zone." "Powell said.
