U.S. stock index futures pointed to a flat open on Wednesday. Traders are focused on company earnings and data on oil stocks.
Allergan, GlaxoSmithKline, Time Warner and Alaska Air will post earnings before market opening. Whole Foods, CenturyLink, Fiserv and Prudential Financial will report after the close of markets.

In Europe, the Stoxx 600 index was the European about 0.36 percent higher on Wednesday. In Asia, China's Shanghai Composite closed 0.46% higher, while Japan's Nikkei closed with a 0.51% increase.
The US government will report weekly data on oil reserves at 17: 30h CET. If the data in the report confirm that the American Petroleum Institute and show a surprising increase in supply, oil prices will likely continue to fall.
Oil prices edged lower on Wednesday after a spike from the previous US session and dwindling Chinese demand suggested global crude markets remain oversupplied.
