The EU-Turkey summit will be held in Varna on March 26th.
Turkish President Recep Erdogan will meet European Commission Presidents Jean-Claude Junckler and Donald Tusk as well as Prime Minister Boyko Borisov at Evksinograd Residence.
The meeting itself will took place in the form of a dinner, Brussels said.
This will be the first talk between Erdogan and the heads of the European institutions for the last two years.
Tusk explained in his invitation to Erdogan that the meeting was in response to the EU's decision to develop relations with Turkey in the areas of concern. As such are mentioned transport, economic cooperation, the fight against terrorism and foreign policy.
"This will be a good opportunity to discuss issues of common interest and recent developments in your country - including the rule of law and freedom - that remain fundamental to the substance and the perspective of EU-Turkey relations as well as regional and international issues" , Tusk writes in his invitation.
In January, Borisov spoke with the Turkish president on the phone, then announced that the meeting in Varna had been agreed and only a date had to be specified. This happened a few days after the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Sofia, which allowed for a meeting between EU and Erdogan.
President Rumen Radev complained that he had learned about the meeting from the media. He is not listed among the participants in the dinner in Varna in the invitation sent by Brussels to the Turkish head of state. Antonio Tajani, the head of the European Parliament, also had to take part in the initial plans. In Tusk's invitation, his name is also absent.
