Virgin Galactic shareholders approved the merger with Social Capital Hedosophia of Chamath Palihapitya on Wednesday, which allows the company to subscribe directly to the NYSE on Monday.
The company will become the first in the field of space flight to be traded on public markets.
The merger between Social Capital and Galactic was announced in July, with Hedosophia holding a 4.9% stake in Richard Branson's company. The merger gives the joint venture an estimated $ 1.5 billion, with Sir Richard Branson retaining a 51% majority stake.
Chamath's company is already trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker IPOA. The merger will be finalized this Friday and will be publicly traded under the NYSE SPCE ticker starting Monday.
