VW will start to recall 8.5M vehicles in Europe now. The firm is under pressure from Brussels to start to communicate better with clients after the scandal with the emissions. The firm says that all alterations to the cars will be finished by the fall of 2017. EU has fears that VW has concentrated to fix vehicles only in certain key markets in the EU, and leaving other markets, unattended and clients are in the dark, failure to communicate with them.
The architect of this program is largely by the EC but VW easily can go around the rules in the program. The European Parliament has voted and approved new rules and regulations for the diesel engines as well as all vehicle and new testing procedures for the emissions but the those will not take into effect until 2021.
New and additional rules and regulations for the Auto industry will only put additional pressure on the sector as a whole and negative impact on Auto stocks.
