The US Inflation Report will be published today at 15:30 (+GMT3).
What are the expectations at Nomura:
"We expect a 0.2% (0.244%) increase on a monthly basis for September inflation, following a 0.082% increase in August, on a 12-month basis, our forecast is 2.304% in September, slightly up from 2.304% in August.
"The comparative weakness of inflation in August as a whole was concentrated in the prices of certain volatile goods, so we think Core CPI will most likely return to its usual pace, which seems quite consistent with core inflation going well over 2%. We are expecting an increase in the core goods prices, after a 0.3% drop in August on a monthly basis.
Among non-core components, we expect a modest increase of 0.1% on a monthly basis in food prices. Energy prices, including natural gas, were mixed in September and we expect a slight decline in CPI prices for energy goods. Overall, we expect 0.2% (0.192%) monthly increase in core inflation.
