The official timetable for the event will be published on Thursday. At this point, we know the following: Powell will speak on Friday about the challenges of monetary policy. Mario Draghi will not be attending the event. Lowe will be in the discussion Saturday. The event will be held in Kansas City.
However, there is a risk that Jerome Powell will disappoint the markets during his monetary policy statement. TDs believe that markets will not receive the expected signal that the Fed is ready for a new cycle of relief.
Interest will take the whole blow, but the US dollar may not be able to cope with the revaluation of policy expectations - even if this revaluation is short-term.
