End of the year means only one thing on Wall Street: time for hidden specialties in the business and give a "window dressing".
Usually at the end of the year, professional investors use strategies to increase profits and give radiance of their portfolios. Basically in this part of the year purchases of profitable stocks to reassure customers that portfolio managers have most pricey shares for the year. If they are lucky, the investors benefit from buying by others doing the same thing.
Considering that the markets haven't moved a lot since the beginning of last week and taking into account the last correction, we can look for gains in individual shares in the remaining two days to the end of the year.
Where more accurately we can look profits:
Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) - the most profitable stock from the S & P500 this year. Persistent trend and potential for further growth in 2017, since the company is headed in the field of virtual reality and autonomous vehicles. Stock growth for 2016 was 230%.
Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT) the company's shares have increased by 75% for the year and, although the indexes consolidated managed to add 3% last week.
United States Steel Corporation (X) has enjoyed an increase of 350% in 2016. In recent weeks also added 3% despite flat market.
However, if you decide to use the strategy for purchases in last days of the year, remember that the movements probably will be short term and then there will be a correction, which will be even sharper. Therefore, if you buy be sure to unload volume of orders quickly thereafter.
