John C. Williams is the president of Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. In this role, he serves on the Federal Open Market Committee.
In a speech from L.A. he said that: US economy, All in all looking pretty good, things are looking good on employment, he sees increasing signs wage growth is picking up. Forecast 2.25% GDP growth in 2016 and expects inflation moving to 2% over next 2 years.
About Fed, Williams said that Federal Reserve policy data dependent, because it is dealing with outside forces. "Fed is closely monitoring potential spillovers from China, Brazil, others".
He alos said thaht the gradual path of rate increases is preferred route and he don't see how market woes could derailed the economy.
