Ribera Del Duero Knutsen became the 18th tanker to depart Cheniere Energy Inc.’s Louisiana natural gas export terminal in May, the most for any month since the first vessel set sail early last year, ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg show.
Cheniere “has been able to place cargoes with relatively little trouble,” said Jason Feer, head of business intelligence at ship broker Poten & Partners Inc. in Houston. Building its reputation as a reliable gas supplier will come in handy in the years ahead as a global glut worsens, he said.
