Gold demand appears to be fizzling on the Federal Reserve.
Open interest, a tally of outstanding futures contracts, dropped to the lowest in more than five weeks as the dollar rebounded amid expectations the U.S. central bank will raise interest rates by year-end.
UBS Group AG lowered its 2017 price forecast to $1,270 an ounce from $1,300.
