Saudi oil producer has informed PetroChina that some of the light crude oil shipments in October will be delayed by approximately 10 days. Aramco will continue to supply the same variety and volumes that PTR requires in its agreement with SA, but in September some of the barrels will be exchanged with heavier oil without delay and volume changes.
Aramco's Abqaiq oil field, which was attacked by drones, is processing oil from Ghawar, Shaybah and Khurais bays. Arab Light and Arab Extra Light oil varieties are produced from the fields.
China is Saudi Arabia's largest consumer of oil, accounting for a 25% share of trade with the Kingdom, with Sinopec the leading buyer.
Asia, which is increasingly dependent on oil imports from the Kingdom, will feel the brunt of lower production in the Arab country. Asian countries have long refused to buy oil from Venezuela and Iran.
