The U.S. is one step closer to becoming energy self-sufficient. Net imports of crude and oil products fell below 2 million barrels per day in the week ended Oct. 27, the lowest level on record, Energy Information Administration data released Wednesday showed. The slide comes amid rocketing U.S. crude and distillate exports, which reached record highs in the period.
